Induction Loop Amplifiers

Hearing aid users can hear more clearly without the interfering effects of distance and background noise because the induction loop system replaces the direct sound path.

The induction loop system enables sound to be transmitted to a listener's hearing aid by means of a magnetic field.

They are suitable for churches, cinemas, auditoria and all public areas.

Induction loops used with the amplifiers range from 40 metres to 400 metres in perimeter.

Important considerations

Most loops can be easily installed by any person who is knowledgeable in placing wiring inside or along walls. eg electricians.
All perimeter lengths include the cable between the loop and the loop amplifier.

A trial loop is advisable if there is any chance of interfering magnetic fields from power wiring, machinery, electric under-floor heating, light dimmers or distortion of magnetic field due to steel in the building or concrete floors containing reinforcing. Coverage depends on building materials used.

If the room has a concrete floor and a high ceiling, the loop would probably be best placed around the walls at about 2.4 meters above floor level.

A good quality electret microphone is recommended for use in or near an induction loop.

Dynamic microphones may cause unwanted feedback via the magnetic field.

Loop Receivers (Two styles available from Moore Hearing)

A loop receiver can be used for
1. monitoring sound quality of induction loop systems.
2. lending to other users (eg. in a church or meeting)

Telehear and LR200 provide clearer hearing for people who wish to hear via the induction loop system without hearing aids.

Notes:

Loop Receiver LR200 does not include necessary headphones or 9 volt battery.
Moore Hearing does not install induction loop systems but may be able to provide advice about installation.
Hearing Aid Loop Amplifiers are GST-free items.
Telehear and LR200 are also GST-free.
